Monthly Meeting: Video Modes, Key Signing

"I've been working with a new computer and I think it's the on-board video card that causes this, but it does not recognize the various video modes that the monitor can do, so I end up with a choice between 640x480 and 800x600 resolution (only.) So I've found some ways to configure the display for additional modes. I'm sure this won't be news to anyone who's been working with Linux for a while, but it was all new to me. So I'll show how that is done, also a way to pull out the video configuration parameters from a Windows box to use the same mode in Linux. This should be handy for those dual-booters who find that the screen is shifted to one side or the other between Windows and Linux, as I have run across a number of times." -- Shay Walters
