The Columbia Linux User Group met 12 June 2008.
Robert Meier gave an excellent presentation on cryptography with PGP (Pretty Good Privacy).
Some highlights:
- 41 character passwords are required to give reasonable assurance of not being hacked by a really big machine
- People can remember 41 character passwords through memory aids like "Mary had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow"
The meeting ended around 8:30.
